This is a plate that is currently on display at the Mint Museum of Art. The title is Themes and Variations. It is a very modern piece, but it is also not too stark and harsh: there is a very beguiling "softness" to it. I love how the left eye is framed by the "cracks." That left eye really draws you in to the work as a whole.
